The last full day outing was in 2011 and the excitement of another outing I am sure had the blood pulsing through the veins of the 22 ringers and friends who set off on the morning of 9th May 2015. The excitement of the election was behind us and we could all relax knowing that Alex Salmond was not going to be Prime Minister!
We rang at five towers and the day included a short train journey on the Mid Hants Railway Watercress Line between Alton and New Alresford. It is always an experience to relive the “old days”. The ringing was of a good standard and was a new experience for a few less experienced ringers. After we had rung at the last tower Andrew Davis thanked Kay Bartholomew for all her hard work in making the day such an enjoyable occasion for ringers and non-ringers.
The day ended with a meal at the Cherry Tree, Steventon and brought to a close a relaxed day of ringing and a wonderful social gathering.
